Parks and Recreation
Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department strives to enhance the quality of life by providing activities that reflect the interest and values of citizens and visitors. Many county parks in Brevard preserve the sensitive ecosystem and include endangered lands and threatened species. Educational programs at nature centers focus on awareness of the outdoors and preservation of the environment such as the unique Indian River Lagoon, the St. Johns River, lakes, wetlands, maritime hammocks and scrub.
Three Forks Marsh Conservation Area - 52,000 acres, located west of Melbourne, 321-752-3115, St. Johns River Water Management District.
Camps, Restaurants, Boat Tours and Marinas
Camp Holly offers air boat rides, boats, canoes, ramp, bait, tackle, and snacks. Located on US 192, 3 miles west of I-95 at the bridge over the St. Johns River, west of Melbourne, 321-723-2179.
Lone Cabbage Fish Camp sells bait and tackle and has airboat rides. Located on SR 520 at St. Johns River, 4 miles west of I-95, at the Orange and Brevard County lines, west of Cocoa. 321-632-4199.
Bull Gator Adventures in Melbourne offers airboat tours, bass fishing, duck hunting and gator hunts. Call Capt. Mike at 321-288-3997.
